Project Information Uses

BIM protocols, standards and tools will make significant Improvements in the way project informationis compiled and coordinated. BIM helps better coordination across the disciplines and prevents significant numbers of mistakes reaching the site and many will be identified while they are still inexpensive to amend. Experience has shown that improving information quality can make projects more predictable and reduce rework, conflicts, and delays.

• The project shall use BIM as part of its delivery.
• The project shall use a BIM Execution Plan (“BEP) to define and manage BIM value during design, procurement, construction, turnover, and facilities management. The Main Contractor shall assign a Design BIM Lead to the project.
• The design BIM Lead shall be responsible for successful BIM implementation on the Project along with BIM Leadsfrom the design consultants, project/construction manager, contractor, and subcontractors.
• Teams shall work collaboratively with other team members and its sub consultants to create a project specific BEP that defines uses, software, protocols, standards,and level of development.
• The BEP shall also define software use, workflows, model standards, and accessto the model. The team isjointly responsible for implementing the BEPto assure success of the project.
